Instagram displays posts at 1080px width. Square posts are 1080x1080, portrait (best engagement) 1080x1350, landscape 1080x566. Portrait takes up more screen space, so it tends to get more engagement.
What dimensions are Instagram Stories?
Instagram Stories should be 1080x1920 pixels (9:16 ratio). This fills the entire phone screen. Keep important content away from the top 250px (where your username appears) and bottom 200px.
What size are Instagram Reels?
Reels use the same 1080x1920 (9:16) dimensions as Stories. The cover image that shows in your grid is cropped to 1080x1350, so design with that crop in mind.
Why do my Instagram photos look blurry?
Either your source was under 1080px wide (Instagram stretches small images) or you uploaded a PNG (Instagram compresses PNG heavily). Use JPG at 1080px+ width.
